Jesus says in John 4:23-24, "But the hour is coming, and now is, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth."

We were created to worship God

Sunday, April 29, 2012

As human beings we were created for one main purpose to worship the Father! Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. —Psalm 29:2, KJV

When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God they chose not to worship Him. To worship God means to obey, honor, reverence, respect, praise, and give Him all the glory. The first commandment God gave Moses was to worship Him and Him alone. God demands worship because He and He alone is worthy of it. He requests that we acknowledge His greatness, His power and His glory. Revelation 4:11 tells us, “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” We were created for this very purpose; to worship.

Isaiah 43:7 says, "Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him."
Jesus told us to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:32). This means our heart, soul and mind are to worship God. Romans 12:1 tell us to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. This means we worship God with our bodies. Our hands and feet were created for worship.

I realize that many people go to church simple to worship the Lord, and that is great. But Hebrews 13:15 tells us to offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Our lips also were created for worship. We are to worship God with our whole being. We were created to be instruments of worship.

Does God still preform miracles of Healing?

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

And he said up to me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
For MY strength is mad perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
 ( II Corinthians 12:9)

One of the most common question that plagues our minds when we find ourselves dealing with a chronic illness that won’t go away ,as Christians is; “Do miracles of healing still happen or are they just something that we read about in the bible? “  You could ask me, after realizing the pain that I have gone through, while learning to dealing with my own illness; ” Do I believe that God HEALS?”  The answer is defiantly YES!  I believe more than ever that GOD ALWAYS HEALS .  I can say that honestly, despite that fact that I still suffer from the pain of  having a chronic illness. GOD ALWAYS HEALS!!!

The next question you could ask me is; “ How can I say   I have Lupus , or any other illness that I deal with on a daily bases, and still say that I have FAITH in God power to HEAL ?“   Many Christians, and I was one of them, have a mistaken conception concerning “ Healing”.  We all tend to  view Healing and Curing as the same thing. But they are not! Curing happens when a physical illness, or injury, gets measurable better. Healing , on the other hand ,is the process of becoming WHOLE!  In my study of people who are chronically ill, HEALING happens even when CURING is not possible. In fact, a person can be lying on their death bed, and still find God’s HEALING power in their life. How can this be?

During  the healing process you reach a place of wholeness, of deep inner peace that passes all understanding.  From this heavenly place, inside your heart and mind,  you learn to deal with your illness with less fear and suffering. You face  your pain , with greater clarity and compassion for yourself. While curing is wonderful when it occurs, healing has a far more out reaching consequence.  Why? Because of the freedom it brings. The freedom from fear ! freedom to forgive others! freedom to love others! To love yourself! And to love God! Freedom to live “Life” to its fullest, even if your “Life” time on this earth is limited.

Does this mean that we should not believe in the possibility that a miracle of curing will not happen? Does this mean that we should not expect a physical  manifestation of curing to enter our lives?  Unfortunately, in our  fascination with miraculous and sensational , we often fail to recognize the everyday miracles God engineers through out our life time. Properly viewed, ever recovery from an illness or injury is a kind of “Divine Miracle”. The human body has an elaborate eternal system for fighting infections, repairing lacerated tissue, mending broken bones, and even repairing diseased tissue… As a result,  in many cases of illness and injury the ability to be cured lies with in our own body.

Calming effects of living in the light

"Jesus said; I am the LIGHT of the world: he that  followeth me shall not walk in DARKNESS, but shall have the LIGHT of life . " ( John 8:12)   As we all know Jesus walked as a true messenger of God word. He walked as a prophet , teacher, and miracle worker. But Jesus was far more than just a teacher, a prophet, or a miracle worker. He was and always will be the LIGHT of God.

What is the LIGHT?  It is simple, The LIGHT is Gods every lasting, unconditional LOVE!

God is Love! ( l John 4:16) This scripture does not say that God has the ability to love  it says that GOD IS LOVE. LOVE is the very foundation of Gods true Nature, it flows from Him life a river and brings life to what ever it touches.

If we look closely  at the world we live in, we can see the purity of His  LOVE all around us.  Every manifestation  of His creative power, is an expression of the LOVE that is within HIM.   It is manifested in the creation of this world, in  the stars in the heavens,  in the cry of a new born baby, and in  the laughter of a child at play.  It is there in a puppies wagging tail, and in the tenderness of a lioness as she watches over her young  cubs. It is there each time a man or women lays down their comfort, and well-being for another. It is there every time a soldier lays down his or her life, in order to set  people they do not even know free from their oppressors. LOVE is there in your heart and in mine, all we have to do is be willing to open our hearts, and receive it as a free gift.

God LOVE is the purest love that there is in this world. His… Love does not seek her own , is not selfish or self-centered. Love does not rejoice in iniquity but rather rejoices in the TRUTH. Love is not easily  provoked, but is serene and stable. Love is merciful, thoughtful, and concerned; it envies not. Love is great, gracious, generous; it is kind and good. Love thinks no evil but has faith in God and in others. Love is humble and gentle, does not  vaunt itself. Love is disciplines and controlled, does not behave unbecoming . ( I Corinthians 13:1-7 revised)

Gods LOVE is never ending.  His LOVE  has no strings attached and does not need  to be earned. Nor is His LOVE blind, instead His  Love does not rejoice in iniquity but rather rejoices in the TRUTH. The TRUTH has the power to set us free,  because God LOVE allows us to see the TRUTH behind our own actions, and our own beliefs that are causing us unnecessary pain and hardship.

NO! His LOVE is not blind. As a result, He understands our fears,  our hopes, the deepest desire of our heart, and our need to be loved. He understands our weakness, and our strengths, and the scars that are keeping us in bondage to the hurts of the past. He understands our fears of rejection and our need  protect our heart from any more pain.

Because His LOVE is pure it has the power to shine into the darkness of our own fears, and calm our fears.  There is no fear in love; for perfect love casteth out fear; because  fear has no torment. For he ( or she ) that feareth is not made perfect in love. ( I John 4:18)

Once I allowed His LOVE to enter my heart , I learned that LOVE for it to be true does not have to be earned. That it can flow free from a heart that is open to experiencing God Healing Grace.
